The San Saba County Volunteer EMS exists to provide outstanding pre-hospital care to the sick and injured in a timely and professional manner for the residents of the county including the cities of San Saba, Cherokee and Richland Springs. During a medical emergency, time is critical and the quality of care that an emergency medical ambulance can provide can mean the difference between life and death, not only for the patient clients, but the medical crew staffing the emergency vehicle as well.

The San Saba County Volunteer EMS has been meeting with officials from both the city and the county to discuss fundraising possibilities to purchase a new ambulance. Buddy Adams, chief operating officer of San Saba Pecan LP, became aware of the effort and contacted General Partner, Richard Chase, of The Chase Foundation of Artesia, New Mexico.
The Chase Foundation, established in 2006 by Mack and Marilyn Chase, prides itself in investing in improving the lives of the citizens and communities in which their foundation impacts. The foundation is also deeply committed to the importance of establishing active community partnerships which will strengthen the foundation's success, and, therefore, the success of the communities involved. But above all, the Chase Family is convinced that each of us can make a difference in shaping the lives and the communities in which we live in a positive manner through community involvement, quality education programs, and the desire to build stronger communities through innovative approaches.
In keeping with its basic credo, The Chase Foundation has committed $15,000 to the San Saba County Volunteer EMS. This $15,000 commitment has graciously been matched by San Saba Pecan LP. Both entities have also pledge $2000 per year for the next five years for a total commitment of $50,000. This generous donation is contingent on the ability of the citizens of San Saba County to raise an equal amount to match the funds committed by The Chase Foundation and San San Pecan LP.
Accounts have been opened at both Arrowhead and City National Banks. Your tax deductible contribution for the "dedication to the matching funds used for the new ambulance" can either be made in the lobby of each bank or via the "drive-thru" services also available at each bank.
Buddy and Connie Adams established San Saba Pecan in 1973, and under new ownership, the company reorganized in 2003 and is still committed to the promise to their customers of producing a superior product, backed by superior service. Along with state of the art shelling equipment and facilities, partners in San Saba Pecan LP have added more pecan producing locations throughout the southwest including orchards in Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. San Saba Pecan LP has always been a strong community partner as well as the largest employer in San Saba County.
